Questions people ask
What JSON shape works best?
A list of objects with similar keys, like [{"name":"Asha","city":"Pune"},...]. Each object becomes a row and the keys become the header. A single object becomes one row, and a list of lists is written as plain rows.
What happens to nested objects and arrays?
Nested objects are flattened into columns such as address.city. Arrays are written into one cell as JSON text, because a spreadsheet cell cannot hold a list.
Why would I turn on formula protection?
A cell that starts with = + - or @ can run as a formula when opened in Excel, which can be abused. The option adds a leading apostrophe to such cells. Leave it off if you need the exact original text.
Will Excel show Indian names and rupee signs correctly?
The file is UTF-8. If Excel shows odd characters, import it with Data, From Text/CSV and choose UTF-8, or open it in Google Sheets.
