Is this a valid GST invoice?
It shows the details Rule 46 of the CGST Rules asks for: your name, address and GSTIN, a serial number, the date, the buyer's details (GSTIN for a registered buyer), HSN or SAC, quantity, taxable value, the rate and amount of CGST and SGST or IGST, place of supply and your signature. Fill all of them in and sign the printout, or use a digital signature on the PDF.
When does it charge IGST instead of CGST and SGST?
When your state and the place of supply are different. Your state comes from your GSTIN when you enter one; the place of supply is the buyer's state.
I am not registered under GST. What should I choose?
Turn GST off and choose Invoice or Cash memo. Composition dealers should choose Bill of supply, which never shows tax.
Do you keep a copy of my invoice?
No. The invoice is built for this one page and not saved. Keep the PDF yourself. If you want invoice numbers, GST reports and payment reminders kept for you, that is what the Marketiism trial is for.
