Will schema markup give me rich results?
It makes you eligible, nothing more. Search engines decide when to show rich results and have narrowed some types: FAQ rich results, for example, are now limited to a few kinds of well-known sites.
Where do I paste the code?
Anywhere in the head or body of the page it describes. Each page should describe what is visible on that page.
Can I add markup for things that are not on the page?
No. Markup must match the visible content, otherwise it can be ignored or cause a manual action.
Which format does this tool create?
JSON-LD, the format Google recommends. It is a script tag, so it does not change how the page looks.
