Questions people ask
Which style should I choose?
Use Value or parameter to encode a single piece, such as a search term, because it also encodes / ? & and =. Use Whole URL to keep an existing address working while escaping spaces and accents. Form data writes spaces as +.
Why does decoding fail with a % sign error?
A % must be followed by two hex digits, like %20. A stray % (as in 50% off) has to be written %25 in a URL.
Are accents and Indian scripts supported?
Yes. They are written as UTF-8 bytes, for example é becomes %C3%A9.
Is my text uploaded?
Your text is processed in your browser and never sent to our servers.
