Questions people ask
How does it count words?
A word is a run of letters or digits, so it also works for Hindi and other languages written with spaces. Hyphenated words such as well-known count as one.
How is reading time worked out?
At about 238 words per minute for silent reading and 130 for speaking aloud. These are averages, so your own speed will differ.
Is there a size limit?
You can paste several million characters. Very long texts may feel slower because the counts update on every change.
Is my text saved anywhere?
No. It is counted in your browser and disappears when you close or refresh the page.
