Questions people ask
How much should I tip in India?
There is no rule. Many diners leave 5 to 10% when the service charge is not already on the bill. Check the bill first, because a service charge may already be included.
Is the tip calculated before or after GST?
On the amount you enter. Enter the total bill, with GST, if you want the tip on that, or the pre-tax amount if you want it on that.
Why round each share up?
It makes cash payment easy. The few extra rupees collected are shown as 'extra from rounding up' so you can leave them as part of the tip.
